Violet and more at Aldeburgh Festival 2022

The programme for the Aldeburgh Festival 2021 has been announced, and several of my works will be performed:

  • My opera Violet, written with writer Alice Birch and directed by Jude Christian, will have its world premiere performances on the opening weekend in the Snape Maltings Hall on the 3rd & 5th of June, with the London Sinfonietta conducted by Andrew Gourlay. The fantastic cast and creatives can be seen on the Aldeburgh website. It’s going on to various places in the summer and autumn (details TBA), but it’s lovely to have it premiered at Snape, as Alice and I developed it on a residency there.
  • The Hermes Experiment are playing I Find Planets on 5 June, at 12pm at the Southwold Arts Centre, alongside arrangements of music by Cécile Chaminade, Priaulx Rainier, Imogen Holst, Caroline Shaw and Errollyn Wallen, and pieces written for the ensemble by Freya Waley-Cohen, Ayanna Witter-Johnson and Misha Mullov-Abbado.
  • Trio Mazzolini are playing Piano Trio “The Chronophage” on 26 June 11am at Aldeburgh’s Jubilee Hall, alongside trios by Haydn, Ernest Bloch and Rebecca Clarke

Tickets for all concerts in the festival go on sale on 29 January.
