Psappha performance & recording

Psappha are playing Two Games and a Nocturne in a concert at Manchester’s Hallé St Peters on 8 October as part of their 30th birthday celebrations, and outgoing artistic director Tim Williams’ last season. The concert also features music by Adam Gorb, Philip Rousiamanis, Nina Whiteman, Bofan Ma, Michael Betteridge and Tom Harrold.

They are also recording the piece for a disc released on NMC Recordings in February 2022, alongside other commissions by John Casken, Ninfea Cruttwell-Reade, Alissa Firsova, Tom Harrold and George Stevenson.

Psappha commissioned the piece in 2017 for their 25th birthday season. It’s always a joy to work with Psappha, and I’m enormously grateful to Tim for performing works of mine on a number of occasions – the work he’s done for 30 years is incredible.
