COVID-19 Cancellations

Obviously like any artist I’ve had a lot of events cancelled. I’ll keep an updated list of cancellations here – clearly anything not currently listed as cancelled is under consideration…some may be rearranged, some won’t be unfortunately.

  • Violet, my new chamber opera, was due to have its premiere at the Aldeburgh Festival in June, which is now cancelled, as is the Buxton Festival where we were due to perform in July. It is also now impossible to make the show for our other scheduled dates in September and October – the run at Royal Opera House Linbury Theatre, plus dates in Mold and Cardiff. There is still a scheduled run in Magdeburg, Germany in 2021, and options are being explored for UK dates.
  • The premiere of Pleasure Garden by Daniel Pioro and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in June has had to be postponed.
  • In addition to the premiere of Violet, my other performances at the Aldeburgh Festival have been cancelled – a performance of My Curves are not Mad by the Britten Sinfonia and a performance of Pleasure Garden by Daniel Pioro and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.
  • Also in June, the Fidelio Trio were due to play Piano Trio “The Chronophage” at New York’s National Sawdust and Adam Swayne was due to play Inventions (for Heath Robinson) at three Riot Ensemble concerts.
  • The Hermes Experiment’s premiere of I Find Planets at King’s Place London in June has had to be postponed.
  • Performances of my Schumann orchestrations in March by the Britten Sinfonia Academy and the Oxford Sinfonia were cancelled.
