Chamber works in September

Three performances this month of some chamber works of mine this month:

  • The Davidoff Trio perform my Piano Trio “The Chronophage” on 11 September as part of Musikdorf Ernen in Switzerland, the festival where I’ve been Composer-in-Residence this year. This will be the piece’s Swiss premiere and is the last piece of mine featured at the festival. Alongside it they’ll be performing trios by Schubert and Anton Arenski.
  • On 24 September, Darragh Morgan will give a performance of my Études Nos. 5 & 6 for solo violin at the Watchtower Gallery in Berwick-Upon-Tweed,. He has played these études on a few occasions since he premiered them in December. The rest of the programme features two fantasias by Telemann, plus pieces by Robin Haigh, Tunde Jegede, Errollyn Wallen, Linda Buckley and Joe Cutler.
  • Lastly, The Hermes Experiment are giving their fifth performance of I Find Planets on 28 September at London’s St John’s Smith Square, alongside pieces by Barbara Strozzi, Anna Meredith, Caroline Shaw, Errollyn Wallen, Ayanna Witter Johnson, Emily Hall and Oliver Leith, as well as their own devised Bass Piece.

Next month sees the London premiere of my violin concerto Pleasure Garden and a new production of Violet in Ulm, Germany. More of both later…
