Sinbad

2009

Directed by Josh Azouz and starring Marc Forde, Sinbad told the story of the eponymous sailor’s travels. It was performed at the Camden Roundhouse in Summer 2009, with a recorded soundtrack from Tom Coult.

Using multitracked violins, cellos and percussion, the atmospheric score evokes the music of a the Middle East, albeit with allusions along the way to Beethoven’s ‘Heiliger Dankgesang’, American fiddle music and a drum & bass loop played on pots and pans.
